CMi-Box Gateway

CMi-Box Gateway

The CMi-Box Gateway is a compact, complete solution for remote meter reading, which uses M-Bus technology. The device consists of a meter connectivity module (MCM) which acts as a gateway for the mobile network, a wireless M-Bus receiver and a protective casing made of polycarbonate. The CMi-Box Gateway therefore covers the entire process, from reading meter data to compiling customised reports to delivering these via the mobile network.

CMi-Box M-Bus Metering Gateway for GPRS

This CMi-Box is made up of a Meter Connectivity Module and a Wireless M-Bus Receiver, mounted and connected in a protective enclosure. The CMi-Box reads Wireless M-Bus meters (alternatives for wired M-Bus meters are also available, without Wireless M-Bus Receiver), compiles meter data in customized reports and delivers it to a receiving system by a set time schedule and integration protocol via the mobile network. The product is configured and updated through text messages or HTTP, which means that settings can easily be changed without having to visit the installation site.

The CMi-Box Gateway is an end-to-end solution that combines the various functions of M-Bus metering, bringing them together in a single, compact unit. The robust, durable casing made of polycarbonate can be securely mounted on the wall using brackets. A system of coloured LED lights provides information on the current status of the CMi-Box Gateway. While the Gateway can be reset to its factory state using a push button, the settings can also be configured remotely.

Transmissions

The CMi-Box is a combination of a meter connectivity module (MCM) as M-Bus gateway that can process and send data, and a wireless M-Bus receiver. The CMi-Box functions as an M-Bus gateway, requesting data from wireless M-Bus meters, compiling the meter data into customised reports and then delivering these to a receiving system.  The fewer meters connected to the CMi-Box, the longer the meter data can be stored. Data can also be transmitted wirelessly to the receiving system via the mobile network, which is controlled by a set time schedule and communication protocols. There is also the option to equip the M-Bus CMi-Box with a wired M-Bus master in addition to an M-Bus gateway.

The CMi-Box Gateway is ideally suited as a complete solution covering the entire remote meter reading process. The model also offers an impressive level of comfort: The product can be configured and updated remotely via SMS, HTTP or Telnet. This makes it possible to do changes to the settings of the CMi-Box Gateway without having to visit the installation site. The device’s easy-to-understand communication system uses coloured LED lights to clearly indicate the system status, making on-site device troubleshooting simple.
