CMi4111

CMi4111

The Meter Connectivity Module (MCM) CMi4111 is mounted in an L+G T230/330 meter and enables the meter to communicate with the receiving server via a LoRaWAN network. The meter module represents a user-friendly, economical and energy-efficient solution. The high communication range, the low acquisition and operating costs as well as the simple configuration via NFC with the mobile OTC app from Elvaco are decisive advantages. The CMi4111 is an internal MCM designed as part of the meter.

CMi4111 - Integrated MCM for Landis+Gyr T230/T330, LoRaWAN

The rapid growth of IoT (“Internet of things”) has resulted in new communication techniques, specifically developed to meet the growing demand of high energy-efficiency and long range. LoRaWAN is one such technique. CMi4111 is mounted inside a L+G T230/330 to deliver meter data to a receiving server via a LoRaWAN network. The product has 11 years of battery life, is energy-efficient and has a long communication range. CMi4111 is easily configured through Elvaco OTC mobile app (via NFC). With CMi4111, Elvaco offers a meter communication module designed for customers that require a user-friendly and cost-effective solution.

The configuration of the CMi4111 using NFC proves to be particularly simple. After the meter module has been activated with the Elvaco OTC mobile app, the data rate of the device is calibrated for the first time. The subsequent device configuration is carried out via NFC and the Elvaco OTC app. To simplify the process, the meter module can also activate itself when a first consumption in the meter is detected by means of water flow.

The CMi4111 supports nine different message formats such as JSON plain text as well as various M-Bus telegrams. In addition, any sending interval between 15 minutes and 1440 minutes (24 hours) can be defined to specify the frequency of communication between the meter module and the server. To ensure a maximum battery life of at least eleven years, the CMi4111 has an EcoMode. This regulates the transmission interval below a specified limit to enable energy-efficient operation of the CMi4111.

The CMi4111 is a Meter Connectivity Module (MCM), which is located as an integrated communication interface in Landis+Gyr T230/T330 meters. Mounted directly in the meter, it enables the transmission of data such as measured values to a receiving server. The IoT device first collects all the data from the meter in order to automatically compile them into reports and forward them to the recipient via a LoRaWAN network.

A long communication range and high energy efficiency thanks to a long battery life of at least eleven years are decisive advantages of the CMi4111.  In addition, the activation, configuration and commissioning of the meter module are carried out in an uncomplicated way. Last but not least, the CMi4111 is a particularly economical device, which is characterized by cost-effective operation with a low broadband requirement. Thus, the model meets all requirements for a smart and reliable element in the Internet of Things (IoT).
